Through the Decades

Jetool is proud of our history of manufacturing GSE aircraft turbine engine overhaul tools since 1975. Our history as a company is closely tied to the life of our president, Don Brettrager.

Mr. Brettrager has an extensive personal knowledge of aircraft, as he is a private pilot with 61 years of flying experience. Don served in the U.S. Army Light Aviation Signal Corp in the Korean War. The aircraft he has flown in his career include the J-3 Piper Cub and the famous P-51 Mustang. Don currently owns a WWII BT-13 Warbird, which he restored from basket condition and PA-18 Super Cub, which he built from factory drawings.

For over 35 years, Don Brettrager has served as president of Jetool and of Chesaning Manufacturing Co., Inc., which he started in 1963.

Mr. Brettrager is proud to call his wife of over 50 years his co-pilot and co-worker. Together they have five children, 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
